 Abstract:  Rabbi Aharon Chaim Zimmerman (1915-1995) was the Rosh Yeshiva (Dean) of Hebrew Theological College until 1964, and then was a Rosh Yeshiva in New York City until he moved to Jerusalem, Israel in 1975. He wrote several books on Jewish law, philosophy and Israel. The collection contains an unsigned letter to him, commenting on his book Binyan Halakhah on Maimonides' Mishneh Torah.

 Abstract:  Rabbi Eliezer Silver was born in Lithuania in 1882, and received Rabbinic ordination in Dvinsk in 1906. He emigrated to the United States in 1907, where he was involved with relief and rescue efforts of Jews during World War I and World War II. The collection, which is comprised entirely of photocopies, consists of commentaries, correspondence, official documents and photographs belonging to him.

 Abstract:  Rabbi Dr. Henry Raphael Gold was a noted rabbi, psychiatrist, and Zionist leader. He held rabbinical positions in Memphis, Boston, New Orleans and Dallas. He served as president of Hapoel Hamizrachi, the labor Zionist organization, before it merged with Mizrachi to form the Religious Zionists of America. The collection contains reprints of articles, speeches and papers written by Rabbi Dr. Gold on psychiatry and Judaism.

The collection contains a photograph (circa 1905), some of Young's letters of credentials as rabbi and schochet, and a brief biographical sketch written by his son.

The collection contains correspondence, notices, and minutes of a meeting that concern issues of Kashrut (Jewish dietary laws).

Established in October, 1914 to help Jews suffering as a result of the outbreak of World War I. After the war, the Central Relief Committee shifted its attention from providing economic relief to Orthodox Jewry overseas to preserving its religious and cultural identity. CRC supported hundreds of yeshivot in Europe and Palestine through 1950, when its affiliation with the JDC ceased. The Federated Council of Israel Institutions succeeded the CRC.

 Abstract:  The collection consists primarily of materials arising from the professional and organizational activities of Rabbi Herbert S. Goldstein and of his wife, Rebecca (Fischel) Goldstein. Herbert Goldstein founded the Institutional Synagogue in Harlem in 1917, and occupied leadership positions in numerous Jewish organizations. Rebecca (Fischel) Goldstein, daughter of the philanthropist Harry Fischel, was an active communal leader as well. Also included are papers relating to the rabbinic activities of their son-in-law O. Asher Reichel, materials relating to Harry Fischel, and records of several institutions with which the overall family was connected.
